WAVE 2009
WAVE Awards – the Western Access
Video Excellence Awards
– are your opportunity to showcase your best work along
with other community media producers in the Alliance for Community,
Western Region's six states: Arizona, California, Colorado,
Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico.
The regional board queried
its recent WAVE participants and responded by expanding categories
to best reflect the work being produced in community media
centers across the region.
Two new categories were created for 2009.
The Free Speech TV Community Activism Award
is for programming that encourages people to get involved
in positive social change. The winner will receive a national
broadcast on Free Speech TV reaching more than 30 million
U.S. households.
The WAVE Web Shorts is for submissions of ten
minutes or less, uploaded to the internet so the community
can view and vote on their favorite program. A special site
for viewing and voting has been developed at wave.acmwest.org.

sites now and a list of finalists
