Western Region

We represent Alliance for Community Media media television stations and PEG access centers and for the six western states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico and Nevada.

Notable events each year are the fall conference, which is scheduled this year for October 15-16 in Sparks, Nevada. Check the Ignite the Voice of Community Media box at the right to see more information.

The WAVE awards are bestowed during the conference. WAVE stands for Western Access Video Excellence, and there are multiple categories for both community producers and professional entrants.

The Brian Wilson Award is presented at the regional conference. You can view past recipients under the Events & Awards heading.

The business of the Western States is conducted by members of a regional Board of Directors, and the regional board is one of several across the country working to keep media accessible to the people.
