Alliance for Community Media, Western Region


	Western Region
	We represent Alliance for Community Media media television stations and PEG access centers and for the six western states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico and Nevada. Notable events each year are the fall conference, which is scheduled this year for October 24-25, 2008 in Ventura, California. Check the Access without Borders box at the right to see more information. The WAVE awards are bestowed during the conference. WAVE stands for Western Access Video Excellence, and there are 28 categories for both community producer and professional entrants. The Brian Wilson Award is presented at the regional conference. With telecommunications legislation moving through Congress and many state legislatures, your voice is more important than ever. The business of the Western States is conducted by members of a regional Board of Directors, and the regional board is one of several across the country working to keep media accessible to the people.
